TIN:MA - MOVE

What originally was going to be a single review turned into an EP listening party. Experimental art, with the emphasis on art, is the best way to describe TIN:MA. Are you ready for a journey through the dark?

TIN:MA is a Canadian recording artist, producer, DJ and honestly a mastermind. TIN:MA created the EP titled 'Move'. We can't and won't bind TIN:MA's EP to a genre since we don't feel the EP is genre bound. We feel like the entire EP is honestly an art piece. TIN:MA executed storytelling perfectly without saying a word.

'TIN:MA created art through music, a wonderful masterpiece which may not be loved and understood by everyone, but most definitely should be experienced at least once.'

We highly recommend listening to TIN:MA's EP in one sitting wearing noise cancelling headphones. The immersion of this art project will surprise you in a way of you not expecting to be drawn in as much as you will. Don't go into it expecting regular music. TIN:MA is experimental art. To those who do not understand how audio can be experimental art, TIN:MA is about to show you. Be prepared. Track no. 1: Mommy Dearest / Wrecked Holes Mommy Dearest kicks off the EP with a mysterious chanting reminiscent of a 90s Horror soundtrack mixed with Hungarian Folk music. It creates a false feeling of safety with the calming flute mixed with the ominous tones. It sounds like the beginning of a journey. Where this journey will take you is unknown, but be afraid. The beat drops. Some more ominous chanting. The track slowly starts to distort and skip, pulling you further into it's horror-esque soundscape. Near the end of the track a synthesiser appears creating another feeling of safety and warmth before the track fades to silence. For some reason the silence after the track is a much needed silence to enjoy and process the production you have just witnessed.

Track no. 2: Yasspilled (Yassification) It's a beautiful blend of genres, tempos and vocals which shouldn't work together, but for some reason they do. The track eventually turns into a danceable production before it fuses vogue dancing and rock into a one of a kind production that has never been executed before. Another fusion of different styles and genres comes along, tempos are being mixed as well. This track makes absolutely no sense, but is executed so well that it works. After a rollercoaster of genres, there's a synthesiser which leads to a voice over part which brings it all back to the ground before another danceable part comes along. The entire track feels like you're being gaslighted, but you're willing to accept whatever will happen to you. By the end of the track, you're forcibly removed from the dancefloor back into the ominous and horror-esque soundscape from the previous track. Reminding you to not get comfortable.

Track no. 3: Spooky Bitch Spooky Bitch is an experience ending in a chant which is again very reminiscent of Hungarian Folk. Track no. 4: Body On Fire The track starts off almost as a binaural beat before a 90s hip hop type of drum set enters the track. A quick transition into peaceful singing. Unfortunately, we were not able to understand the lyrics. A great transitional track into the next song. Track no. 5 & 6: My Love's Gone / States of P*ssy A Love's Gone sounds like the perfect intro to the final song of the EP. Both incorporate similar sounds and create a similar soundscape. For the final track of the EP you get pulled back into the mysterious horror-esque soundscape. Halfway through the song it transitions into a production which sounds like it should be calming. It's quite relaxing honestly, but then again.. don't get comfortable. Just when you're about to fully relax, the track starts to distort once again, emulating the sound of the world coming to its end.

TIN:MA created art through music, a wonderful masterpiece which may not be loved and understood by everyone, but most definitely should be experienced at least once.
